What would a first trip to the beach be without eating sand?

I've been homesick for the beach, so we decided to venture out to the nearest one we could find. We found this fun little beach and playground in Herriman, Utah called Blackridge Reservoir. We loved it. It wasn't too far, but just far enough away to feel like we were on a mini day trip vacation. Benson enjoyed his first taste of sand and Kenzie enjoyed building her first sand castle. I live for the weekends and our family adventures and this is one we will definitely be doing again.
